IdahoSTARS is a non-profit organization that provides resources and support for child care in Idaho.

Developmental Milestones

Children learn most rapidly during the first three years of their life and each child develops at their own pace. As a parent, you can track and encourage learning by understanding the milestones of your child’s development.

Idaho Infant-Toddler Program

Early Intervention Services meet developmental needs of the child and needs of the family to support the child’s development.

NAEYC

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is a nonprofit organization that promotes high-quality early childhood education. NAEYC works to improve the learning experiences of children from birth to age 8.

​

Idaho AEYC

Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children is a non-profit organization. Idaho AEYC supports quality early care and education for all children.

West Ada Early Intervention Preschool Program

The mission of the Early Intervention Program is to offer a diverse range of services for children ages 3 to 5 with developmental delays and disabilities.

Positive Discipline

Positive discipline is a child-centered approach to managing behavior that focuses on teaching and guiding children, rather than punishing them, by setting clear expectations, providing choices, and encouraging them to develop self-control and problem-solving skills while fostering a respectful and supportive environment.

Head Start Program

Head Start preschool is a free, federally funded program that helps low-income children ages 3 to 5 prepare for school. The program is designed to promote children's development in many areas, including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills.

St. Luke's Children's Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics

If you're concerned about your child’s development, a team of trained and experienced clinicians will work with you to discover your child’s strengths and struggles, develop a treatment plan, and connect you with community resources that will help your child reach their potential.

211 The Idaho Care Line

​The 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine is a free, statewide community information and referral service, and is a program of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

​

Lee Pesky Learning Center

​Lee Pesky Learning Center helps develop self-regulated learners who are connected, self-aware, self-determined, strategic, and resilient.

Financial Assistance Resources

​Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP)

The Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP) serves families with children under the age of 13 or over 13 if a child has a disability, providing child care assistance to working families by paying for a portion of child care.

​

Child Care Aware of America

Child Care Aware® of America (CCAoA) is a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to eligible military families for child care. The program is administered on behalf of the United States Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps. 

​

Idaho Department of Health and Welfare

Temporary Assistance for Families in Idaho (TAFI) provides temporary cash benefits for eligible low-income families and households to help pay for food, clothing, shelter, and other essentials. ​
