PRE-K PROGRAM

Our Pre-K program is thoughtfully designed to prepare children for a successful transition into kindergarten, equipping them with the academic, social, and emotional skills they need to thrive in their next educational setting. With a curriculum that is both engaging and challenging, we focus on developing foundational skills in literacy, math, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Through a combination of structured learning activities and hands-on exploration, we help children master important concepts such as letter recognition, early writing skills, number sense, and shapes. Our teaching strategies also promote language development, encouraging children to build vocabulary, communicate effectively, and express themselves confidently.

In addition to academic preparation, our Pre-K program emphasizes social-emotional growth. Children learn how to work collaboratively, share ideas, resolve conflicts, and navigate new social situations—skills that are key to success in kindergarten. We also foster independence, self-regulation, and a love for learning, ensuring that each child feels ready to embrace the exciting challenges that come with kindergarten.

By using a combination of teacher-led instruction and play-based activities, we create a well-rounded approach to kindergarten readiness, supporting each child’s unique development while making learning fun and meaningful.

group sizes and ages

With fewer children in a group, teachers can provide more focused guidance, build stronger relationships, and better support each child's unique developmental needs. This allows for more meaningful interactions, personalized learning experiences, and a nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore and grow at their own pace.

DAILY PARENT REPORTS

Each day, parents will receive a report that offers a personalized snapshot of your preschooler's activities, ensuring that you feel connected to their experiences while they're with us. Our daily updates include details such as what your child ate during meals, how much they ate, and whether they had a restful nap. We also provide insights into their mood throughout the day—whether they were energetic, calm, happy, or engaged in specific activities.

Additionally, each report highlights a fun activity or a special moment from their day, such as a new skill they mastered, a positive interaction with a peer, or a creative endeavor they enjoyed. These reports serve not only as a reflection of your child's daily routine but also as a way for you to celebrate their achievements and feel confident in their growth and development. We believe that by sharing these daily updates, parents can stay actively involved in their child’s learning journey, building a strong partnership that supports each child’s development at home and at school.

Pre-k DAILY SCHEDULE
Research shows that children tend to learn best in the morning, typically between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. During this time, their alertness, concentration, and cognitive functioning are at their peak. This is largely due to their natural circadian rhythms, which influence energy levels and attention span. Mid-morning is particularly effective for activities that require critical thinking, problem-solving, and memory retention, as the brain is most efficient at processing new information. After lunch, around 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, children often experience a dip in energy and focus, known as the “post-lunch slump.” During this period, they benefit more from hands-on, interactive activities that are less cognitively demanding.

HOW WE PREPARE CHILDREN FOR KINDERGARTEN

ACADEMIC SKILLS
  • Literacy Development: Pre-K programs introduce basic reading and writing concepts. Children learn letter recognition, letter sounds, and early phonics skills. They may begin recognizing their name, writing it, and understanding that letters form words.

  • Mathematical Foundations: Basic math concepts are introduced, such as number recognition, counting, sorting, shapes, and simple patterns. Children might also start to understand concepts like "more," "less," and "same."

  • Pre-Reading Skills: Through storytime, children develop listening skills, an understanding of story structure, and vocabulary. They learn to recognize sight words and understand the connection between spoken and written words.

SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
  • Self-Regulation: Pre-K focuses on helping children manage their emotions, follow routines, and practice self-control in a classroom environment.

  • Cooperation and Sharing: Children learn to work together, take turns, and resolve conflicts in a group setting, which are essential social skills for kindergarten.

  • Independence: Pre-K encourages children to complete tasks on their own, such as putting on their coat, using the bathroom independently, or following simple instructions.

fINE & gROSS MOTOR SKILLS
  • Fine Motor Development: Activities like cutting with scissors, drawing, coloring, and manipulating small objects help build hand-eye coordination and the small muscle groups needed for writing.

  • Gross Motor Development: Physical activities that involve running, jumping, climbing, or balancing help children strengthen their large muscles, which are important for physical activities and for sitting and focusing in the classroom.
